It’s literally the fluted motif dial. It looks best with the fluted bezel. Having handled plenty of these in both bezels, the smooth bezel does nothing for it. I’m personally a huge fan of jubilee+smooth bezel, its an elegant combo. However, I don’t think you can just change the bezel, the fluted one is a white gold while the smooth is a SS. Keep it as is, the smooth bezel of DJ41 is very unique (I prefer it over the 36 smooth bezel although I own a 36)Its timeless 36mm case size, coupled with the iconic fluted bezel and Cyclops lens, creates a harmonious aesthetic that transcends fleeting fashion trends. From an investment standpoint, the Datejust 36 116233 offers a compelling proposition.
My personal preference is: fluted bezel —> 36mm. smooth bezel —> 41mm. A 41mm DJ with a fluted bezel would just be a bit too flashy IMO and throw off the classic dress watch look, regardless of your wrist size. 36mm is the perfect, timeless size for that.
