My thoughts are relume the hands and add lume to the arrow over the 12 and the 5-minutes indices markers. Has anyone done this? Other suggestions or recommendations? I recently stumbled across this Vintage Breitling online. I'm curious what y'all think about the dial/hands and whether they're original. I can't find other examples of this piece anywhere, and the lume looks a bit suspect (perhaps an old relume?)
With over 10 years experience in relume services I have relumed watches from all major brands such as Rolex, Omega , Officine Panerai , Breitling , Tag Heure , Seiko, Citizen , Casio , Oris, Longines , Hanhart , Helios , Timor , Festina , Tudor , Certina , CWC, Vostok , to name a few.
I just had a 1964 Avi 765 overhauled, and I chose to replace a few of the hands and a pusher that were incorrect for the watch, and to relume. I did not polish the case and also did not opt for the service dial my watchmaker offered, just a cleanup of the existing OG dial. Just wondering, is luminova used for reluming vintage Navitimers now? Am assuming tritium(60's+) and radium(in all 50's 806"s and other models), which these watches originally had, is now a controlled substance since is radioactive and . Can some please recommend a relume service in the US, preferably Los Angeles? I have a Hamilton Field Khaki day-date (H70505133) that I love but has minimal lume on the hands and none on the numerals. Any ideas on cost? Thanks!
